Day 6

First day back to the work week after the holiday. I REALLY didn’t feel like doing a lot and my energy was so low. I just did a bunch of random cardio exercises enough to meet my calories burned count. I started off with 20 minutes on the elliptical but it didn’t really get my heart rate up so I switched to the treadmill. I thought I would warm up my muscles by walking for twenty minutes first and then running for two miles. It was not fun but I managed it. Ugh, do not like these days.

Day 5

As you may have notice, I tend to have the same breakfast over and over again. Recently it has been a bowl of oats with a mixture of rolled oats, wheat bran, flax seed, blueberries, banana, kefir and peanut butter. I find that it gives me enough energy for my workout and honestly, it tastes so delicious to me. Today the run started off very sluggishly, but after about 10 minutes I started feeling more comfortable. Today was a public holiday so we just lazed around the house and just relaxed. Dinner was spice rubbed chicken legs and baked veggies. It was extra delicious while watching the latest episode of Game of Thrones!

Day 4

Day 4 occurred in two parts. I anticipated that we’d be outside all day that we would eat a few meals outside. To compensate I decided to hit up the apartment gym and the normal gym. Today is the start of June so I shelled out 150HK for the monthly pass. I woke up at a hideous hour of 7:00 before P woke up.

Part 2 occurred when p was tutoring. I originally thought I wouldn’t have the energy to run again and was set on just doing the elliptical and watching some shows, but I surprised myself and managed to crank out more mileage on the treadmill.

We had a lovely lunch with chicken, cheese and veggies for me and then at night, some rice dumplings for the upcoming dragon boat festival.

Day 3

Felt better enough today to run an extra mile. My legs felt very good today so I just continued to keep running. In my mind, running burns more calories than any other cardio, especially the elliptical. I used to do the elliptical as a sort of cop out when I felt too lazy to run but just recently I measured my calories burned and the elliptical burns far less calories. Weirdly, I sweat like a pig on the elliptical but not as much on the treadmill. I started the 50 days armed with my own music but by the third day, the music becomes too repetitive and I find myself skipping songs more often than not. Enter online radio! I always choose some 90’s or 2000 pop hits because I haven’t heard those songs in a long time and they really bring up memories of my childhood. Hope eventually I also don’t get sick of that too.

Day 2

More running and still a slower pace. Went to the apartment gym today and kind of hurting at the money it takes. I’m considering buying the monthly pass for the month of June just so I will make sure to go everyday. We went and watched X-Men and you know what that means, usually greasy and oh so delicious snacks at the theatre. I don’t think I did so bad… I had an egg mcmuffin as a snack (200cal), noodles with tomato/egg and chive dumplings for dinner, and then perhaps about a small piece of fried chicken and a red bean milk tea for the movie. I felt satisfied enough as usually I would have my own extra large chicken steak AND a bubble tea.

This has become my current noodle obsession and I plan on having it very soon. Mmm!

Day 1

I started day 1 at the apartment gym, which was 15HK for each time. I already have a gym membership, but the weather has been incredibly humid and hot that it just wasn’t worth it to brave the heat and go. I didn’t want to exercise too strenuously because I hadn’t exercised at all for months and was scared of cramping up my legs really badly. So I ran really slowly and focused on tuning myself to music. Although it was a slow run, time went by fast because I kept daydreaming about all the things I could wear and do when I finally reached my goal. Also, really loved imagining the looks on peoples’ faces when they see how much I’d changed. Yes, I used to weigh much much more back in Uni, and especially my highest in high school, and yes I am quite shallow and vain.
